Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Forest Park, GA, is hiring a Body Technician to perform intermediate body repairs on tractors and equipment under supervision.

The role involves rebuilding, painting, and diagnosing issues, with potential outdoor work and shifts including nights/weekends. Emphasis on safety and quality with OE training opportunities. Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in body repair/ Semi-Tractor maintenance and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• A/C Certification
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes

Responsibilities

• Inspect damaged or wrecked equipment and perform valuations to create cost estimates for repairs
• Rebuild and paint wrecked trucks, hoods, and body parts with focus on fiberglass and cosmetic repairs
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as it pertains tractor maintenance including fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems and FHWA Inspections
• Accurately perform intermediate level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and understand repair times and warranty guidelines
• Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed; follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures including respirator log
• Operate wrecker to move trucks into shop to be repaired
• Perform post-maintenance diagnostics and testing
