Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traction Power Engineer for the New York Metro Region to join our World Class Rail Team. You will perform design calculations, develop power distribution drawings, and support rail systems from design through construction on notable commuter rail and subway projects.

Ideal candidates will have experience with 750 V DC third rail and 12/25/60 Hz systems, and be able to work in a hybrid model within a dynamic transportation environment in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of Traction Power design experience.
• Experience with railway electrification (DC/AC) including substations design, test & commissioning.
• Experience in developing technical specifications and grounding/bonding networks for electric railways.

Responsibilities

• Prepare power systems AC/DC single-line diagrams, schematics, drawings and equipment layout.
• Prepare engineering design criteria, reports and technical specifications.
• Perform onsite inspections, field measurements and live HV substation activities.
• Attend factory and site tests and prepare field reports; perform protection relay settings and coordination studies.
