Job summary

Town of Natick is seeking a skilled Town Treasurer/Collector to lead the Office of the Treasurer/Collector. This role oversees tax billing, collections, cash management, debt administration, investments, and fiduciary responsibilities, ensuring accurate and compliant financial operations.

The ideal candidate has extensive municipal finance experience, leadership ability, and a strong commitment to operational excellence and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible municipal finance experience, 3+ years in supervisory role.
• Experience with municipal ERP systems, preferably MUNIS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all operations of the Treasurer/Collector’s Office (tax billing/collections, cash management, debt administration).
• Custodian of Town funds: ensure accurate receipt, disbursement, safeguarding, and accounting of assets.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, investments, and borrowing activities.
• Direct tax collection, accounts receivable, tax title, and foreclosure activities.
• Develop financial policies, internal controls, and compliant investment strategies.
• Administer trust funds and fiduciary accounts; oversee budgeting and staffing.
• Prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts, and ensure accounting integrity.
• Collaborate with departments and the public; promote online payment solutions.
