Job summary

Betacom is seeking a Tower Technician III for North Georgia to join our Atlanta-area team. This full-time field role performs installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications towers and associated equipment, often at height and in demanding conditions.

The position requires climbing 100 feet, lifting equipment, and following safety procedures. Prior OSHA and RF awareness training, plus tower-mapping experience, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years industry experience.
• Good communication skills, reading and writing skills (English).
• Ability to lift over 70 pounds.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation.
• Must be able to accommodate out-of-town travel.
• OSHA10, ComTrain, RF Awareness, First Aid/ CPR trained.
• Experience with Anritsu SiteMaster, Andrew, PPC, towermapping and antenna equipment.
• Experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.

Responsibilities

• Climbs and works on communications towers to install, replace, and repair antennas and equipment.
• Uses basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Completes required daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).
• Knows hazards related to tower climbing and energized lines.
• Able to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with a 50 lb load.
• Troubleshoots RET systems and runs lines to the top; grounds coax lines and installs connectors.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment and reports safety concerns.

OVERVIEW:

Leads and assists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Leads by example to facilitate timely job completion. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.
