Job summary

Betacom-Incorporated is seeking a Tower Technician IV to lead installation and maintenance of communications towers in Charlotte, NC. The role requires climbing tall structures, overseeing safety and field operations, and coordinating with crew leads to complete projects on time.

Applicants should have 3–4 years in the industry, strong communication skills, and experience with Anritsu Site Master, PPC, and tower mapping. Travel and high-height work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must have Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 4 years of industry experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, reading and writing skills (English).
  • Good computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to accommodate out-of-town travel, if required.
  • ComTrain, OSHA10, RF Awareness Training, First Aid/CPR trained.
  • Must have experience with Anritsu Site Master, PPC, towermapping and antenna equipment.
  • Must have experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.
  • RF awareness, replacement and maintenance (coax, jumpers, TMA’s, connectors, weather proofing).
  • Highly organized with ability to report verbally and in writing to the Tower Foreman.

Responsibilities

  • Climbs and works on communications towers for installing, replacing, and repairing antenna system equipment.
  • Basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Safety management—ensures crewmembers comply with safety requirements.
  • Completes daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) and executes defined actions.
  • Knows hazards related to tower climbing, construction equipment, and energized lines.
  • Develops and writes detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) for jobs.
  • Leads and mentors tower crews and ensures quality.
  • Troubleshoots tower lighting systems and RF testing environments.

Salary Range: $27.00 To $30.00 Hourly

OVERVIEW:

Leads and assists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Leads by example to facilitate timely job completion. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Climbsandworksoncommunicationstowers forthepurposeofinstalling,replacing,andrepairingantennasystemsequipment.
  • Thebasicuseandcareofhandtoolsandmechanicalequipment.
  • SafetyManagement-ensurescrewmembersareincompliancewithcompanyandcustomersafetyrequirements.Verifiesandensuresalltoolsand rigginggear aresafe touse.
  • CompletesrequireddailyJobSafetyAnalysis (JSA’s).Executesandmanages,ifrequired.
