Responsibilities

• Climb and work on communication towers for installation, replacement, and repair.
• Follow safety practices and ensure tools and rigging are safe to use.
• Complete daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) as required.
• Lead and mentor a crew safely within budget and schedule.
• Develop and write method-of-procedure for jobs or projects.
• Troubleshoot tower lighting systems and related equipment.

OVERVIEW:

Leads and assists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Leads by example to facilitate timely job completion. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Climbsandworksoncommunicationstowers forthepurposeofinstalling,replacing,andrepairingantennasystemsequipment.
• Thebasicuseandcareofhandtoolsandmechanicalequipment.
• SafetyManagement-ensurescrewmembersareincompliancewithcompanyandcustomersafetyrequirements.Verifiesandensuresalltoolsand rigginggear aresafe touse.
• CompletesrequireddailyJobSafetyAnalysis (JSA’s).Executesandmanages,ifrequired.
• Knows the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or nearenergizedlinesand equipment.
• Theabilitytoclimbtallstructures(100 feetormore)with50lb.load.
• Fullunderstandingofajob orproject ScopeofWork(SOW).
• AbilitytodevelopandwriteadetailedMethodofProcedure(MOP)forajob/project.
