Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Tower Technician II. You will install, maintain, and operate telecom equipment across wired, wireless, fiber, and microwave systems. The role involves climbing towers, erecting structures, and supporting A to Z tower projects with a safety-first mindset.

You will mentor newer technicians, follow safety policies, and contribute to reliable community connectivity on long-term projects.

Qualifications

• Safety is a daily priority and adherence to safety standards is expected.
• Proven ability to complete work with quality and accuracy.
• Hands-on problem solving with a practical, can-do approach.
• Interest in long-term project work and teamwork.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow printed instructions.
• Minimum of 2 years of tower experience and climbing ability (up to 12 hours).
• Valid driver's license and driving record per company policy.
• PWSA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber, and microwave telecom equipment.
• Climb towers and ladders, erect towers, and install carriers on new/existing towers.
• Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles.
• Assemble monopoles and self-support/guyed towers; install microwave antennas.
• Install transmission lines, grounding, and electrical foundations; ensure safety compliance.
• Mentor new technicians and perform other duties as assigned.
