Job summary

Blue Man Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Lighting Technician for the 2026 North American Tour. You will support the Head of Lighting with setup, focus, programming, and operation of lighting systems, ensuring cues and effects are accurate across performances.

You may swing to other departments, assist with load-ins and maintenance, and collaborate with video and props teams during touring stops, while upholding safety and production standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in theatrical or live event lighting.
• Strong working knowledge of intelligent fixtures, dimming systems, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with GrandMA lighting consoles required.
• Experience with rigging, truss systems, and safe work practices at height.
• Ability to read and follow lighting plots, circuit schedules, and cue sheets.
• Experience troubleshooting DMX and network-based control systems.
• Touring experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, focus, programming, and operation of lighting systems and electrical fixtures.
• Ensure lighting cues and looks are executed accurately across performances.
• Perform daily checks, maintenance, and cleaning of fixtures, consoles, and cabling.
• Assist with load-ins/loadouts, and cooperate with other departments during touring.
• Support safety and compliance with local and industry standards.
• Communicate with department heads and crews to maintain smooth operations.
