Job summary

Blue Man Group is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager for the 2026 North American Tour. The ASM supports the Production Stage Manager and stage management team to ensure smooth performances, backstage operations, and daily show calling.

The role includes load-ins/outs, prop and consumables management, and coordination with performers and technical departments. The ASM may call performances when needed during the tour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Stage Management, Performing Arts, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional Stage Management experience in live entertainment or touring productions.
• Proven ability to call live performances and manage cue-heavy shows.
• Experience with props, consumables, and backstage operations.
• Proficiency in scheduling, documentation, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first book cover, calling performances as assigned.
• Chair daily Circle Meetings, conduct soundchecks, review notes, coordinate with performers and tech.
• Lead in the space when the PSM is absent, maintain communication and show integrity.
• Attend post-show notes, complete show reports for review by the PSM.
• Manage the deck during performances and maintain prop presets, running tracks, and prop maintenance.
• Conduct front-of-house briefings for venue staff as needed.
• Assist with load-ins/outs, set up/strike stage and props.
• Support with preparing and maintaining props for press appearances and off-site gigs.
