Job summary

Blue Man Group North American Tour is seeking an Assistant Carpenter to support the Head of Carpentry across scenic, rigging, and deck operations for the 2026 tour. The role is a hands-on, touring position requiring proactive problem solving and teamwork.

You will assist with setup, maintenance, and execution of show elements, run show cues, and cross-train to help Lighting, Video, Props and Wardrobe. Travel through Nov–Dec 2026 and stay safety-conscious in diverse venues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in theatrical carpentry, rigging, or technical production for live entertainment.
• Experience with scenic, mechanical, or automation systems.
• Basic knowledge of rigging, truss, and stage construction.
• Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and stage hardware.
• Able to read and follow technical drawings and cue sheets.
• Comfortable at heights, on ladders, and in physically demanding environments.
• Must be able to travel domestically for extended periods (Nov 2026–Dec 2026) and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of scenic, stage, and automation elements under the Head of Carpentry.
• Run assigned show tracks during performances and manage cues.
• Serve as a technical swing, supporting Lighting, Video, Props and Wardrobe as needed.
• Maintain and check all scenic and automation equipment for safety and readiness.
• Participate in load-in/load-out and assist with transport of equipment.
• Support fabrication, maintenance, and inventory of scenic materials.
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure safe, efficient performances.
