Job summary

Willdan is seeking a Senior Director, Benefits and Total Rewards to shape and lead our global reward strategy. This leader will advise executives, develop compensation, benefits, and recognition programs, and partner with legal, finance, IT, and vendors to ensure effective delivery.

The role spans the U.S. and Canada, requiring collaboration with multiple stakeholders to drive equitable programs aligned with corporate goals and growth. Strong leadership and regulatory acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in compensation and benefits with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. compensation and benefits practices; Canadian knowledge a plus.
• Industry experience in consulting, engineering, or energy preferred.
• Certifications such as CCP, CBP, SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Total Rewards strategy across the U.S. and Canada.
• Design, implement, and administer compensation programs including incentives.
• Evaluate and evolve rewards programs to align with business goals and regulations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and manage vendor relationships to ensure program success.
• Oversee Leave of Absence management and ADA accommodations.
• Develop and monitor budget for benefits and compensation programs; support M&A efforts.
• Communicate Total Rewards programs and provide training to staff and managers.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and company policies.
