About The Role

The Total Rewards Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering a seamless employee experience across leave administration, benefits, and compensation functions. This position supports core Total Rewards programs while contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee satisfaction. The Specialist ensures timely, accurate, and empathetic support for employees and cross-functional teams, acting as a key partner in driving operational excellence and supporting Total Rewards continuity.

What you’ll do
Leave Administration – Ensuring Compliance & Employee Experience
  • Coordinate and track leave requests (FMLA, ADA, disability), ensuring regulatory compliance and timely communication.
  • Support the ADA interactive process, enabling appropriate accommodations that support employee retention and productivity.
  • Maintain and improve the leave tracking system for better reporting and automation, reducing manual workload.
  • Collaborate with payroll to reconcile leave-related pay adjustments, ensuring accurate records and timely payments.
  • Provide continuous leave support coverage as backup to the Leave Specialist.
Benefits Administration – Elevating Employee Support & Operational Accuracy
  • Manage life event changes, benefits enrollments, and QLE documentation to ensure eligibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Respond to employee benefits inquiries via email and other channels, offering timely and clear communication.
  • Resolve benefits-related issues with vendors and payroll, including COBRA and eligibility discrepancies.
  • Assist with major events like Open Enrollment and compliance initiatives (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA), reducing organizational risk.
  • Serve as a backup to the Benefits Specialist to maintain consistent employee support.
Compensation Administration – Supporting Pay Equity & Market Competitiveness
  • Contribute to job evaluations and market pricing to maintain equitable and competitive pay structures.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual salary surveys, informing compensation planning.
  • Act as a backup to the Compensation Lead, ensuring continuity in compensation-related tasks and reporting.
Process Improvement & Automation – Driving Efficiency & Data Accuracy
  • Identify inefficiencies in HR processes (onboarding, benefits, leave, etc.) and recommend automation opportunities.
  • Implement and support HR technologies that streamline workflows and improve data quality.
  • Build automated workflows and reports using HRIS and other tools to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Integrate HR systems with payroll and benefits platforms to enhance consistency and reduce redundancy.
  • Other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of previous experience within Total Rewards (any combination of benefits, leave administration, compensation)
  • Process improvement and project management skills
  • Strong computer navigation skills; ability to quickly learn and proficiently utilize HRIS and various vendor administrative websites
  • Effective communication skills, oral & written including composition in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and independent decision-making skills
  • Effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations
  • Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects
