Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to provide cybersecurity and security engineering for the NMCC. This full-time onsite day-shift position is based at the Pentagon/NMCC with ad-hoc telework.

Responsibilities include system security engineering, risk assessments, vulnerability remediation, and security architecture support, with a focus on HBSS/ACAS deployments and STIG compliance.

Qualifications

• Security+ certification is required.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to identify security risks across OS, hardware, and data transfer protocols.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform or review technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Build, deploy, and patch HBSS Windows and ACAS RHEL servers (7.9/8).
• Maintain and patch ePO, Security Center, and Nessus servers.
• Provide Security Center accounts for Vulnerability Managers.
• Analyze ACAS scan results and remediate findings.
• Obtain licenses for HBSS ePOs and Tenable Security Centers.
• Configure McAfee policies across environments and run SCAP scans.
• Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and cybersecurity networking rules.
