Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks a Sr Principal DevOps Engineer to join at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. You will lead automation, virtualization, and CI/CD initiatives to support C2BMC mission operations across secure, on-prem environments.

You will design and sustain a complex hyperconverged cloud on Nutanix, craft deployment scripts with Ansible/Terraform, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile setting. Active Top Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s with 6+ years; or 12+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher required at start.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required at start.
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Red Hat OpenStack, Nutanix).
• Experience managing Linux and/or Windows Server systems.
• Experience in Scrum/Agile environments.
• Design, implement, and manage a complex hyperconverged Nutanix cloud infrastructure on-prem.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts (Ansible or Terraform).
• Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, PowerShell; test and validate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for process and automation improvements.
• Track impact of events and actions on infrastructure (patching, maintenance).
• Design, implement, and manage cyber-secure cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with development teams to enable CI/CD across systems.
