Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks an Audio Visual (AV) Operator to set up and operate audio, video, and multimedia equipment for meetings, conferences, training, and live/virtual events in the Washington, DC area.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, prepare technical environments, test equipment, and deliver real-time support to ensure high-quality AV experiences for in-person, hybrid, and remote settings.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of related experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Must be able to obtain DHS EOD at SCI level.
• Experience operating professional AV systems.
• Experience with hybrid meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom, Webex).
• Ability to lift and move AV equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance for analysis, maintenance, and modification of telecommunication systems to meet operations standards.
• Coordinate with event organizers, presenters, and tech staff to confirm equipment needs.
• Conduct equipment testing, calibration, and system checks prior to events.
• Set up and operate microphones, projectors, speakers, monitors, cameras, video switchers, and conferencing systems.
• Support in-person, hybrid, and virtual meetings ensuring high-quality audio/video delivery.
• Monitor AV systems during live events and identify issues quickly.
• Handle AV livestreams and playback as required.
• Request equipment maintenance or replacements as needed.
• Submit trouble tickets to Tier 2/3 support for repairs.
• Ensure AV setups comply with standards, safety, and security protocols.
• Document event setups and troubleshooting actions.
