Job summary

LaFontaine Automotive Group in Novi, MI is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance according to dealer and factory standards. The role offers on-the-job training, a tiered pay plan, and opportunities for growth.

You will work with a team in a high-volume dealership, receive competitive compensation based on experience and ASE certifications, and participate in bonuses, referral programs, and benefits. Michigan Mechanic Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license and a clean MVR.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and teammates.
• Ability to read and understand repair instructions.
• High school diploma or GED; Michigan mechanic certification preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair orders from dispatcher and work efficiently per standards.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized.
• Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs address the customer complaint.
• Attend training classes and stay updated on factory bulletins.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the workspace.
