Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Oversee and lead all areas of tooling and provide tooling staff with direction and priorities on daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Optimize toolroom schedule for equipment and resource constraints
• Optimize tool build sequencing and resource allocation for internal tool builds
• Oversee tooling process, storage and inventory both internally and externally
• Identify and drive process improvements utilizing troubleshooting skills to optimize tool quality and build efficiency
• Drive 5S, equipment maintenance, safety, and employee training /development in the tooling area
• Responsible for coaching, training, and disciplining employees
• Participate in tool vendor selection, evaluation, and management
• Communicate with clients and vendors to ensure tools are delivered to specifications (schedules, costs, and modification)
• Oversee and support design and build of tooling and fixtures
• Oversee and support inspection, fit-up, and documentation of new tools as they arrive
• Repair damaged tooling by use of various tool repair techniques (welding, grinding, machining)
• Follow the standards of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 International Standards
