Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, Associate’s degree in Machine Tool and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent.
• Advanced milling, turning, grinding, machine programming, CAD/CAM, metrology, quality control, fixture design and fabrication, EDM, heat treatment, and OSHA.
• Understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and statistical process control.
• Reading blueprints and GD&T.
• Use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, indicators, and optical/physical gaging.
• Metallurgy understanding.

Responsibilities

• Construct and troubleshoot engineering designs into a viable manufacturing process with available equipment.
• Determine fabrication process and sequence with minimal assistance.
• Fabricate complex jigs and fixtures with minimal supervision.
• Work in 2D and 3D environments within tolerances of +/-.0005”.
• Provide guidance to less senior Toolmakers.
• Communicate problems and corrective actions to supervision.
• Participate in 5S workplace standards and sustainment activities.
• Follow all safety and ISO procedures.
