Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Decorah, IA seeks a Tooling Toolmaker for the first shift (Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm). You will learn to read blueprints, set up header tooling, and maintain tooling to support fastener production. The role requires strong mechanical skills, basic math, and familiarity with IATF16949/ISO14001 standards.

You will join a multi-brand, global tooling team offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Overtime may be required to meet production goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical ability and general shop knowledge.
• Basic math skills needed.
• Good human relations skills and teamwork valued.
• Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and use gauges to make and rework header/tooling.
• Operate toolroom equipment per procedure and safety rules.
• Set up header tooling to die prints with limited supervision.
• Read drawings and prepare tools to meet tolerances.
• Maintain backup tooling to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Follow ISO and SPC procedures relevant to toolroom activities.
• Assist header operators with tooling needs to hit dimensions.
• Initiate TC/Rs and ECs to improve tooling designs and updates.
• Learn interpretation of tooling and production prints.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Work overtime as needed.
