Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling is properly supplied and to drive tooling improvements. You will work between tooling engineering and production, auditing tools, performing studies, conducting tests, and resolving tooling issues while upholding Saab's safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years relevant work experience required.
• 2+ years of aircraft manufacturing assembly or related experience a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design and troubleshooting tooling issues.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting; ability to operate machining/measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills; familiarity with aerospace quality regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency with GD&T and CAD software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain tools within each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and application; perform performance testing and analysis.
• Investigate tooling issues and propose countermeasures.
• Contribute to installation of new tooling capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools and ensure tool compliance with aerospace standards.
