Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to strengthen tooling and manufacturing technology. You will ensure production tooling is well supplied, drive tooling improvements, manage inventory, and act as a bridge between tooling engineers and production teams.

Responsibilities include auditing tools, supporting tooling studies, conducting tests, and resolving tooling issues while aligning with Saab's Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support values.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience is required.
• 2+ years of technical/aircraft manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Tooling selection and application experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design and troubleshooting of tooling issues.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality regulations and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate tooling issues and implement countermeasures.
• Propose new tooling solutions and support capital projects installations.
• Assist assemblers with safe tool usage and ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
