Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for 3rd shift to strengthen tooling and manufacturing technology. You’ll ensure production tooling is stocked, drive tooling improvements, manage inventory and compliance, and act as a link between the tooling engineer and the production team.

Responsibilities include auditing tools, supporting tooling studies, conducting performance testing, resolving tooling issues, and proposing new tooling designs for capital projects.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing.
• Basic tooling design and GD&T understanding.
• Proficient with Excel and CAD software; able to report findings.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analyses.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions/designs for capital projects.
• Assist production teams and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
