Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness and drive tooling improvements. The role bridges tooling engineers and production, auditing tools, performing studies, and supporting capital projects in a high-tech aircraft manufacturing environment.

The position requires an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years in aircraft tooling/assembly, with proficiency in tooling testing, CAD/Excel, and a strong adherence to aerospace

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years similar experience.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly experience in aircraft manufacturing.
• Tooling selection & application experience in manufacturing.
• Basic tooling design.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues with countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding aerospace quality regulations is a plus.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Proficiency with Excel reporting.
• CAD software experience a plus.
• Driven, innovative, takes initiative.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must be self-motivated, able to sit or stand long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekend overtime.

Responsabilités

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist in capital projects.
• Contribute to a people-first culture aligned with Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to Aerospace standards.
