Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling availability and drive tooling improvements on the production floor. You will link tooling engineering with the assembly team and support tooling studies, performance testing, and issue resolution.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years in aircraft tooling/assembly, with strong skills in GD&T, Excel reporting, and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience.
• Experience with tooling in aircraft manufacturing or assembly is a plus.
• Tooling selection and application experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design knowledge and countermeasures for tooling failures.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and support installation of tooling projects.
• Assist assemblers with safe use of tools.
