Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness and drive tooling improvements. You will bridge the tooling engineer and production teams, audit tools, support studies, and help install new tooling capital projects.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years in aircraft manufacturing, with strong tooling knowledge, GD&T familiarity, and proficiency in Excel and CAD.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection and basic tooling design experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and propose countermeasures.

Responsabilités

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and report results.
• Investigate tooling issues and implement countermeasures.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist installation of capital tooling.
• Assist assemblers with safe tool use and ensure aerospace standards compliance.
• Collaborate with tooling engineer and production team.
