Job summary

Hadrian is seeking a Manager, Tooling Engineering to lead a team designing and implementing precision tooling systems for large-scale manufacturing, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.

You will own the tooling roadmap, balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, and coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, automation, and program teams to stand up new production capabilities quickly.

Qualifications

Experience leading or managing engineers or a senior technical lead ready to take on people leadership.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and how tooling impacts quality and efficiency.
Deep experience designing tooling systems for large-scale parts and assemblies (machining/welding).
Ability to direct both prototyping and continuous improvement while managing multiple programs.
Proficiency in FEA and 3D modeling tools to guide the team’s work.

Responsibilities

Build, lead, and develop a tooling engineering team with mentorship and growth.
Set the technical strategy and roadmap for tooling for large components and assemblies.
Own delivery and quality across the tooling program lifecycle from concept to validation.
Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, automation, and programs teams.
Manage vendor and supplier relationships to meet schedule and budget.
Establish standards, design reviews, and best practices for tooling analysis and documentation.
Provide guidance on high-load and high-temperature tooling challenges.
Serve as the tooling point of contact for stakeholders and new opportunities.
