Job summary

Hadrian is seeking a Manager, Tooling Engineering to lead a team creating precision tooling for large-scale manufacturing. You will set direction for tooling across heavy components, balancing performance and reliability with rapid capability launches.

You will own the strategic roadmap for tooling, pair hands-on technical leadership with people management, and partner across engineering, manufacturing, quality, automation, and program teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers or in a senior technical leadership role.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and how tooling supports quality and production efficiency.
• Experience delivering tooling systems for complex or large-scale parts and assemblies.
• Ability to set direction across prototyping and continuous improvement across multiple programs.
• Working proficiency in FEA and static analysis to validate tooling; fluency in 3D modeling and simulation tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, ANSYS).
• Knowledge of material selection and fabrication techniques for high-load/high-temperature environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team of tooling engineers, including hiring and career growth.
• Set the technical strategy and roadmap for tooling supporting large components and assemblies.
• Own delivery and quality of tooling programs across the production lifecycle from concept to validation.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, automation, and program teams to align tooling with production goals.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships to source and implement tooling systems on schedule and budget.
• Establish standards, design reviews, and best practices for tooling analysis and validation.
• Provide technical guidance on high-load, high-temperature tooling challenges.
• Serve as tooling point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including new business opportunities.
