G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL seeks a Tooling Manager to lead Advanced Tooling Engineering and the Toolroom, driving safety, quality, delivery and cost improvements through world-class tooling engineering.

You will manage tooling engineers, mold designs, tool delivery, and tooling projects, while maintaining data and revision control, mentoring staff, and collaborating across departments to sustain a high-performance molding operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial/chemical/plastics/polymer processing or equivalent in tooling and mold development.
• Prior experience in tooling engineering and toolroom management.
• Proficient with 3D drafting software and simulation concepts for material flow and curing.
• Strong problem-solving using root cause analysis techniques.
• Ability to mentor and develop subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Manage Tooling Engineering and Toolroom, driving safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics.
• Lead tool design, mold support, and new product development collaboration.
• Define tooling projects and ensure on-time delivery to specs.
• Maintain revision control and data management for tooling designs.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives through advanced tooling projects.
• Establish tooling specifications and maintenance scheduling.
• Mentor engineers, manage performance, and conduct reviews.
• Collaborate with NPD and other departments to ensure manufacturability.
