Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for our 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness and drive tooling improvements in aircraft assembly. You will bridge tooling engineering and production, audit tools, perform studies, and support capital tooling projects.

The role requires an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of related work, with experience in tooling, GD&T, and CAD. Strong organizational skills and readiness for extended hours are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years related work experience required.
• 2+ years technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design and troubleshooting tooling issues.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools in each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and contribute to capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with safe tool use and ensure aerospace standards.
