Job summary

Joseph Michaels International seeks a Tooling Engineer for Palmdale, CA, on a 12-month contract. This onsite role pays $45-55/hour (W2) and requires US citizenship.

You will coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures, develop test plans, and drive process improvements while supporting new product designs for manufacturability. The position manages all project phases from design to validation in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Catia design experience with high proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing.
• Familiarity with ANSI, ISO, and other industry standards for drawings.
• Knowledgeable in designing castings, stampings and turned components
• GD&T knowledge and ability to apply rules to drawings
• Strong writing and communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external
• Coordinate/develop & execute test plans
• Develop & evaluate process improvements
• Assist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology.
• Developing manufacturing processes, plans, and procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment supporting shop planning and product performance
• Managing all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble, and validate
