True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Tooling Engineer for an onsite 12-month contract in Palmdale, CA. The role offers a pay rate of $45-55/hr W2 and requires US citizenship.

Responsibilities include coordinating tool design/fabrication with customers, developing test plans, and driving process improvements. The candidate will support product development to ensure manufacturability and oversee projects through all phases from design to validation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Catia design experience with 3D modeling and detailing.
• Familiarity with ANSI, ISO standards and industry requirements.
• Experience designing castings, stampings and turned components.
• GD&T knowledge and proper application to drawings.
• Strong writing and communication of technical details.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools with internal and external customers.
• Coordinate, develop & execute test plans for tooling.
• Develop and evaluate manufacturing process improvements.
• Assist Product Development with manufacturability and validation of new designs.
• Develop tooling-related processes, plans, and work instructions.
• Manage all project phases: design, document, fabricate, assemble and validate.
