Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I) in Charleston to perform maintenance checks, load and unload equipment, demonstrate tools to customers, and assist higher level technicians. You will work safely, follow DOT regulations, and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment.
• Good mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Load and unload equipment complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight.
• Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale.
• Demonstrate tools for customers.
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging for rental ready status.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

As a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I), you'll use your skills to perform manual and maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of specialty tools in a safe and professional manner.
