Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I) in Oklahoma. You will perform maintenance, minor repairs, and tool demonstrations while ensuring safety and compliance.

Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential, with opportunities for growth within the Service Department. Responsibilities include equipment checks, reporting conditions, DOT-compliant loading/unloading, and assisting higher level technicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment is needed.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight.
• Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale.
• Demonstrate tools for customers.
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

As a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I), you'll use your skills to perform manual and maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of specialty tools in a safe and professional manner.

What you'll do:

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight
• Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale
• Demonstrate tools for customers
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment
• Good mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge of tools
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
