United Rentals is seeking a Tool Service Technician I to perform maintenance, minor repairs, and safety checks on specialty tools. You will load/unload equipment, demonstrate tools to customers, and report conditions to management, contributing to safe, reliable rental operations.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, teamwork, and adherence to DOT guidelines. High school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with opportunities for growth in the Service Department.

• Clean tools and prepare equipment for rent or sale.
• Demonstrate tools and equipment to customers.
• Perform minor repairs including electrical calibration and tagging.

As a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I), you'll use your skills to perform manual and maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of specialty tools in a safe and professional manner. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight
• Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale
• Demonstrate tools for customers
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment
• Good mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge of tools
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
