Job summary

United Rentals in Forest Hill, TX, is seeking a Service Tech I to perform maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment using diesel, automotive, or other mechanical skills. You will contribute to a safe, professional operation and deliver exceptional customer service to customers.

You will have opportunities to advance within the Service Department, with duties including reporting machine conditions, assisting with pickups, and helping manage inventory in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Perform minor repairs including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, plumbing, and tagging for rental readiness.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Manage and organize inventory.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use

• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, Plumbing, and tagging of equipment for rental ready status
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines, Vacuum Trucks, AC Systems, RV Systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools applicable to position
• Basic plumbing knowledge
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
