Job summary

United Rentals in Broken Arrow, OK is seeking a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I) to perform maintenance and minor repairs on specialty tools, ensuring safe, rental-ready equipment for customers.

You will load/unload equipment, demonstrate tools, support higher-level techs, and maintain strong customer service. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, and basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment are required, with opportunities for growth within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Load and unload equipment following DOT height, width and weight rules.
• Clean all tools and prepare equipment for rent or sale.
• Demonstrate tools for customers.
• Perform minor repairs including electrical, calibration and tagging of tools for rental readiness.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Assist higher level technicians as needed.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I), you'll use your skills to perform manual and maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of specialty tools in a safe and professional manner. What you'll do:

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight
• Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale
• Demonstrate tools for customers
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment
• Good mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge of tools
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
