Job summary

Westfall Technik in Wakefield, MI is seeking a Tool Maker Trainee on the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm–11:00pm). You will operate mills and grinders, assist mold makers, and help ensure parts meet print specifications.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude is required.
• Organizational and communication abilities are a must.
• Ability to learn new tasks efficiently.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs infrequently.

Responsibilities

• Operate mills and grinders and heat treat ovens.
• Operate the wet grinder and grind parts per direction and to print.
• Assist the lead mold makers with assembling molds.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and clean department.
• Learn mold fit, assemble, complete, and inspect of injection molds.
• Carry out tool-building tasks under the direction of the department lead person.
• Meet scheduled hours and dates, with the goal of completing ahead of schedule.

We are currently seeking Tool Maker Trainee, with the below qualifications

2nd shift: Monday- Friday, 3:00pm- 11:00pm

Professional Attributes

• Efficiently operate manual machines such as mills and grinders and heat treat ovens.
• Efficiently operate the wet grinder and grind parts per direction and to print.
• Assist the lead mold makers with assembling molds complete with a goal of making good parts at first sample.
• Meet scheduled hours and dates of all tasks, with the goal of completing ahead of schedule.
• Maintain an attitude of Continuous Improvement. Make suggestions for improvements.
• Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times.
• Carry out tasks for tool building under the direction of the department lead person.
• Learn mold Fit, Assemble, Complete, and Inspect of injection molds.
• Responsible for Department Housekeeping, Cleanliness, and Organization as required
