Job summary

Westfall Technik Inc. is seeking a Tool Maker Trainee for our Wakefield, MI site. The role involves operating manual machines (mills, grinders), assisting mold makers, and ensuring parts meet print specifications.

You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, work on a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm-11:00pm), and have opportunities to grow within a fast‑growing plastics injection manufacturing company in the USA.

• Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
• Must have strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs and work with a team.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking Tool Maker Trainee, with the below qualifications

2nd shift: Monday- Friday, 3:00pm- 11:00pm

Professional Attributes

• Efficiently operate manual machines such as mills and grinders and heat treat ovens.
• Efficiently operate the wet grinder and grind parts per direction and to print.
• Assist the lead mold makers with assembling molds complete with a goal of making good parts at first sample.
• Meet scheduled hours and dates of all tasks, with the goal of completing ahead of schedule.
• Maintain an attitude of Continuous Improvement. Make suggestions for improvements.
• Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times.
• Carry out tasks for tool building under the direction of the department lead person.
• Learn mold Fit, Assemble, Complete, and Inspect of injection molds.
• Responsible for Department Housekeeping, Cleanliness, and Organization as required

Desired Skills and Experience

• Good mechanical aptitude, Organizational and communication Abilities a must, Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment to accomplish all tasks of the department. Ability to learn new tasks efficiently.
