Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Tool Engineer - Level 2/3 for our Space Sector in Clearfield, UT. You will drive tooling design, analysis, fabrication support, and process improvements for aerospace applications, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to meet cost and schedule targets.

The role requires strong experience in FE analysis, NX modeling, and vendor coordination, with a 9/80 schedule and potential for career growth within a leading defense contractor.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 2+ years experience, or Master with 0 years.
• Experience with closed-form and FE analysis; prefer NX, ANSYS and ABAQUS software systems.
• NX modeling experience; FEA experience (Abaqus preferred).

Responsibilities

• Interface with the review team to assure customer satisfaction with the design.
• Managing projects and coordinating procurements and fabrication to meet program cost and schedule requirements.
• Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure program quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Develop tooling concepts and improve manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
