Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a junior to mid-level Energetics MFG Engineer (Tool Engineer) to support the Clearfield, Utah facility. The role covers tooling design, fabrication drawings, inspection and procurement to meet program cost and schedule targets.

The candidate should hold a STEM degree with relevant tooling experience, be able to obtain a U.S. government clearance, and travel as required to suppliers. Strong communication and CAD/FEA skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years' technical experience in engineering, design, and fabrication of special tooling and related equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Experience with hand calculation analysis and Finite Element Analysis practices.
• CAD modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.
• Manage projects and coordinate all procurements and fabrication to meet program cost and schedule requirements.
• Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design.
• Work with manufacturing team to ensure program quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Develop tooling concepts and review/improve manufacturing processes to meet requirements.
• Perform stress analysis to ensure mechanical soundness.
• Travel to suppliers to support fabrication.
• Support continuous improvement.
