Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Utah is seeking a junior to mid level Energetics MFG engineer (Tool Engineer) to support tooling and equipment for aerospace applications at the Clearfield Facility. The role involves design, fabrication drawings, inspection, procurement and verification requirements, and collaboration with internal customers.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with 5+ years of related experience, can obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in a STEM discipline with a minimum 5 years technical experience in engineering, design, and fabrication of tooling and related equipment.
• May be hired one level lower (level 2) with B.S. and 2 years minimum equivalent technical work experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Experience with hand calculation analysis and Finite Element analysis practices
• CAD modeling experience

Responsibilities

• Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design
• Manage projects and coordinate procurements and fabrication to meet cost and schedule requirements
• Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design
• Work with manufacturing team to ensure program quality, delivery, and cost objectives
• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability
• Travel to suppliers to support fabrication (15-20% travel)
• Inspect tool configuration for drawing compliance (fit, form, function)
• Support continuous improvement
