Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Utah's Clearfield facility seeks a junior or mid-level Energetics MFG engineer (Tool Engineer) to support tooling and equipment for Aerospace applications. You will design, analyze, and fabricate tooling, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with NG standards.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, ability to obtain an U.S. government security clearance, and occasional travel to suppliers (about 10%).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in a STEM discipline; 5+ years in engineering, design, and fabrication of tooling and related equipment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Experience with hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis practices.
  • CAD modeling experience required; proficiency in NX preferred.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturing and inspection methods.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with review team to ensure customer satisfaction with design.
  • Manage projects and coordinate procurements and fabrication to meet program cost and schedule.
  • Inspect fabricated tooling to ensure compliance with design and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Develop tooling concepts and improve manufacturing processes to meet customer needs.
  • Travel to suppliers to support fabrication (10% travel).
