Job summary

Gestamp is seeking a skilled tool and die maintenance technician to perform maintenance, service, and repair work on dies and tooling, addressing engineering changes and improvements. You will be responsible for die maintenance, spare parts stock, and servicing dies, including welding and re-construction tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a Toolmaker apprenticeship preferred and at least five years of automotive tool & die experience. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Toolmaker Apprenticeship/Journeyman preferred.
• 5+ years automotive tool & die experience preferred.
• Knowledge in pneumatics and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• General drilling and tapping, milling, turning, and grinding in the tool room.
• Service work on all dies in the Press Shop.
• Repair in the press during failure.
• Ensure quality of press parts by optimized die maintenance.
• Responsible for spare parts stock.
• Servicing of dies with stamping nuts and supportive equipment.
• PM (Preventive Maintenance on Tooling).
• Re-construction of dies: turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
• Spotting of dies.
• MIG, TIG, Stick welding.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Toolmaker Apprenticeship/Journeyman preferred

5+ years automotive tool & die experience
