Job summary

Dowding Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair dies used in stamping and tooling production. You will troubleshoot dies, perform precise machining, and assess dies against quality specs.

Strong GD&T, CAD/CAM proficiency, and experience with precision measuring tools are required. The role emphasizes safety, organized work areas, and collaboration with engineering to optimize tooling and production efficiency, with opportunities to

Qualifications

Must demonstrate tool-making skills to diagnose and modify tooling concerns.
Strong planning, estimating, shop math, blueprints, and GD&T skills required.
CAD and CAM skills for design, development, and mapping of tooling details.
Must be able to utilize precision measuring equipment up to CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Responsibilities

Review dies not in production to identify problems and repair before/during production.
Repair dies using hand grinding, machining, drilling, milling, and heat treat as needed.
Compare die designs with production/QA requirements and suggest improvements.
Observe production runs to verify dies meet quality specs and feed back for improvements.
Coordinate die repairs with production schedule and analyze die sections for repairs.
