Job summary

KASAI NORTH AMERICA in Manchester, TN seeks a skilled Dies and Molds Technician. The role spans electrical and mechanical trades with repair, preventive maintenance, and strict safety adherence.

You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and cooling issues, operate Lathe/End mill/Surface Grinder, and work from sketches and prints to meet tolerances. Requires 1–3 years related experience and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years technical training or 2-3 years on-the-job experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read sketches and prints.

Responsibilities

• Must know all Safety Requirements, Departmental and Plant Wide.
• Maintain departmental 5-S for assigned areas and equipment.
• Complete required departmental paperwork; basic computer and CMMS usage.
• Know safety equipment and proper uses.
• Transport dies from departments to Die Shop safely.
• Operate crane safely and effectively.
• Weld and silver solder to bring out parting lines or smooth surfaces to tolerance.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems of dies and heaters; replace heaters and check wiring.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders, seals, fittings, lines for leaks and pressure.
• Troubleshoot water heating/cooling; use acid washer to clean dies.
• Understand die structure; manifolds, nozzles, switches; replace worn parts.
• Troubleshoot emergencies; manually separate dies when power fails.
• Work with air parts, cylinders, and jets; modify as needed.
• Use Lathe, End mill, Surface Grinders, taps, drills, files to finish parts.
• Fabricate jigs or parts from resins and other materials for assembly lines.
• Complete projects independently while meeting tolerances.
• Run dies you have worked on; ensure good set of parts.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas for staff.
• Support Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
