Job summary

Kasai North America, Inc in Manchester, TN seeks a skilled Die & Mold Maintenance technician. You will perform varied repair tasks across electrical and mechanical systems, troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic components, and ensure dies are maintained to tight tolerances.

Strong adherence to safety and 5-S is required; experience with cranes, welding, and print interpretation is preferred. The role requires High School/GED and 1–3 years of related technical training or on-the-job experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1–2 years technical training or 2–3 years on-the-job training.
• Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in electrical or mechanical areas.

Responsibilities

• Must know all Safety Requirements, Departmental and Plant Wide.
• Must be able to maintain departmental 5-S for assigned areas and equipment.
• Must be able to complete required departmental paperwork; general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system.
• Must know all safety equipment and proper uses of.
• Must know proper transportation methods of all dies from Departments to Die Shop.
• Must be able to use crane safely and effectively.
• Welding and silver soldering to bring out parting lines or fill areas; maintain tolerances.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems of Dies, Fuses, Thermocoupling, Calrod Heaters, Band heaters, Nozzle heaters, Rewiring of Electrical components; read voltage and resistance.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders' seals, needles, fittings, and lines; ensure pressure and proper connections.
• Troubleshoot water heating or cooling problems; clean passages with acid wash; ensure proper water flow.
• Understand die structure, manifolds, nozzles, and their integration with the die; manage bearings and moving parts.
• Run dies and install die for production; set up for various processes (Injection Molding, Piercing, Rough Cut, Sonic Welding, Trunk Trim Dies).
• Maintain clean and safe work areas for yourself and others.
• Support Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures; follow management directions.
