The Pivot Group Network is partnering with Lansing manufacturers seeking Tool and Die Makers. This opportunity targets skilled professionals who can design, build, and maintain tooling to support high‑quality production in a dynamic shop environment.

We value experienced machinists who can read blueprints, GD&T, and 3D models, and who bring hands-on proficiency with CNC machines, EDM, and precision metrology. Attractive compensation and local collaboration await in Michigan.

Qualifications

Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in Tool and Die Making.
5+ years operating manual and CNC machining equipment.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
Knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment.
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for tooling.
Experience with precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities

Design and build new tools, dies, and fixtures.
Repair and maintain tooling to ensure production continuity.
Operate lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM.
Interpret blueprints and 3D models for tooling specs.
Perform precision measurements with micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
Troubleshoot tooling issues affecting quality or efficiency.
Collaborate with engineers and production to optimize tooling.
