Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Tool Design Engineer at all levels to design and develop tooling for manufacturing processes. You will utilize CAD (Catia/3Dx) to create precise tooling models and apply GD&T, tolerancing analyses, and lean principles to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Requires a related BS in Engineering or Manufacturing and 6+ years of experience (4 years with a Master’s). Familiarity with PLM systems and CNC fixturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a related BS degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Minimum 6 years related experience (4 yrs with Masters).
• Proficient knowledge of CAD; Catia/3Dx preferred.
• Able to translate data using IGES, Step, Model or other methods.
• Proficient with measuring instruments and GD&T.
• Familiar with composite tooling and PLM systems.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops tools to facilitate manufacturing processes.
• Proficient CAD drafting to document tooling models.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analyses for practical tool designs.
• Contribute to manufacturing work instructions and cost reduction programs.
• Lead small teams and mentor other tool design engineers.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
