Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC designs industrial machinery and tooling for aerospace applications, using Catia V5 or 3DX to produce detailed 3D models and 2D drawings. The role collaborates across design, manufacturing, and tooling procurement to optimize quality, cost, and schedule.

Candidates must hold a secret security clearance or be able to obtain SAP within six weeks, with at least seven years of experience in aerospace tooling and one year creating 2D drawings.

Qualifications

• Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain SAP within 6 weeks of submission.
• Minimum 1 year design experience with Catia V5 or 3DX
• Minimum 7 years' experience designing a variety of assembly tools for aerospace vehicles or similar
• Minimum 1 year creating 2D technical design drawings

Responsibilities

• Design and develop assembly tools for aerospace vehicles using Catia V5 or 3DX.
• Lead process-improvement activities within tool design and planning product flow.
• Create technical 2D drawings and specification sheets for tooling.
• Liaise between design, manufacturing, and tooling procurement on quality, cost, and schedule.

Job description

Designs industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments required for production or experimental use, considering such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts, in the field. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Will act as liaison between designers, manufacturing, engineers, manufacturing, and tooling procurement regarding aspects of quality, cost, and schedule relating to tool manufacturing planning. Will lead activities to improve processes within the tool design and planning product flow. Will use 3DX / Catia for design and create technical 2D drawings.

Required Experience

• Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain SAP within 6 weeks of submission.
• Minimum 1 year design experience with Catia V5 or 3DX
