Job summary

CE Machine in Wichita is seeking a Tool Crib & Tooling Specialist to manage the tool crib inventory and issue tools to machinists. You will pre-set and measure CNC tools, perform basic maintenance or sharpening, and ensure accurate tracking to minimize machine downtime.

You will collaborate with machinists and supervisors to determine tooling needs for upcoming jobs, maintain tool records, and support cost control and tooling efficiency in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Receive, inspect, store and issue cutting tools and related supplies.
• Pre-set and measure CNC tools using precision equipment.
• Assemble, sharpen or modify tools per sheets or orders.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and track usage.
• Inspect tools for wear and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Label, store, and organize the tool crib for efficiency.
• Collaborate with machinists and supervisors on tooling needs.
• Maintain logs of issued/returned tools; support cost control.

Responsibilities

• Receive and issue cutting tools, inserts, holders, fixtures and related supplies.
• Pre-set CNC tools with manual and CNC tool presetters.
• Sharpen or modify tools per work orders and blueprints.
• Keep inventory accurate and reorder as needed.
• Inspect tools for wear and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain tool crib organization and documentation.
